Sarah who?
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin may be a newcomer to the national political scene, but wasn't Obama newcomer not too long ago?
While voters may today be asking "Sarah who?" they will soon get to know this woman as Mrs. All-American.
She's a tremendously creative selection. While many of politicos have followed her and admired her as a pro-life reformer who has worked to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in government. She is a crusader for families and for Americans.
Will she attract women voters? Will she attract Clinton supporters? Only time will tell. But most important, she presents a stark contrast to the Democratic ticket. She is a departure from the political norm. She represents change.
Folks won't be asking "Sarah who?" for long!

No bibles at some Hyatt hotels, thanks to Obama's cmpgn finance manager
It has been reported that Hyatt hotels has removed the bibles from their hotel rooms, but not all Hyatts have done so.
I received a report that they have at the Chicago Hyatt Regency. The individual making that claim said he had asked staff and it was a very rehearsed corporate answer, "Some of our guest are uncomfortable with a bible in the room"!
Who owns Hyatt hotels? She's work $1.8 billion and is the campaign finance manager for Obama...Penny Pritzker of Chicago. Her office is over on 1 North Wacker, the home of Hyatt headquarters. Bloggers are abuzz with her having been at the eipcenter of the subprime loan catastrophy - http://gdaeman.blogspot.com/2008/02/who-is-penny-pritzker-and-why-is-she.html
The Hyatt Regency in Austin reportedly has bibles in their rooms. I called to check, and it appeared that I wasn't the first to have done so.

Obama's visit from a soldier's perspective
Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.
As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.
So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.
I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheer leaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point... I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

This deserves to be said, and to be told -- Barak Obama would be no Commander in Chief. He would dismantle the defense system President Reagan and Congress built, the defense system which helped "tear down that wall" which Obama referenced this week in his showboat trip. Even with the major network anchors in tow, we aren't hearing about the trip from the soldier's perspective. We need to say "thanks" to the men and women who are fighting for freedom, whether you agree with the war or not. Obama's failing to shake their hands and say "thanks" is disgraceful.

Government goes to those who show up
Are your property tax bills too high? Protest!
Is your federal income tax bill consuming your family's prosperity? Call your Congressman and Senator and let them know you want taxes cut.
Does government tax, spend and regulate too much? Remember this: government goes to those who show up. Too often, it is those who want something from government who are pounding those marble halls of the state capitol and the US capitol, of city hall and the county commissioner's court. You need to elect officials who will work for the taxpayer -- and you need to call them often so they don't forget who sent them to office.
If you are feeling like you don't know enough about things to call an elected official -- join an organization like Americans for Prosperity (www.AmericansForProsperity or www.AFPTX.org) which will keep you up to date on pocketbook issues and how you can make a difference.
Remember -- the arc was built by amateurs while the Titanic was built by professionals.
Government goes to those of us who show up -- it is our government. Get involved!

West Texas standard
I’m a West Texas girl and I remember when crude oil was at $20 a barrel.
Let me explain. First, my father had a small oil field equipment company. He owned the company, but he spent his days in the oil fields transporting parts and working with his customers – the drillers.
Second, the West Texas price of crude oil is the standard.
I may be dating myself, but I remember the rejoicing in West Texas (and my household) when crude oil reached $20/barrel. Ok, that was in the mid-70’s.
Today it is reaching $120/barrel and headed higher. Why?
It’s safe to say most Americans want us to be less dependent on foreign oil. We have reserves in this country – off our coasts and in ANWR. Why aren’t we drilling?
Radical environmental alarmists are standing between consumers and more affordable energy. It’s time we just say no to these policies, and proceed to claim the energy reserves we have available to us while we also look to market-based energy conservation and alternative energy resources.

Whose pastor says G__ damn America?
Rev. Wright is wrong.
As a mother, I have always said we are defined by who we associate with.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy has become a divisive issue. Is Sen. Obama guilty by association with Rev. Wright?
I went to church today and tried to imagine a pastor at Gateway Church in Austin ever saying G__ d___ America, and I just could not envision it.
None of my former pastors, and I’ve lived in six cities, would have said G D America, in our out of context. And if they had, they would be a former pastor and a former church. The last I would see of that church would be in my rear view mirror. Period.
In what context is damning your country appropriate? And where, particularly in church, would any patriotic American (or Christian) ask God to do the damning.
Wright is wrong and we deserve a President who has the judgment to determine who is appropriate to associate with. (Who encourages their kids to hang out with thugs? Hey, we are defined by who we choose to associate with.)
If you're running for President and aren’t going to wear a flag pin, you are subject to scrutiny. Is Sen. Obama proud to be an American?
Whether his wife is proud to be an American (for the first, or 20th time in her adult life) or not is another issue.
This is about judgment and leadership and whether the junior Senator from Illinois is ready to lead the free world, and to represent America and put Americans first.
I’m not convinced.
I am convinced that I don't want a President who chose a pastor who says God d___ America.
